10:40 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, report of vandalism to a pool on East Whitley Street.
10:45 a.m. - At East Whitley. Subject had five eggs thrown into his pool. No damage, just clean up.
1:05 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, suicide attempt.
1:10 p.m. - On scene. Female took 17 Xanax [...]

Eagles shutout Cougars 42-0

The Busco Eagles dominated Friday evening, trampling the Central Noble Cougars in football action 42-0.
Just like last week, the knockout blow was delivered quickly with the Eagles scoring early and often, taking a 21-0 lead with just over seven minutes gone in the game.
They benefited from four consecutive Cougar turnovers on their first four possessions.

Girls softball champs treated to trip to Cedar Point

The partners of CT Consultants; Semi Custom Home builder based out of Warsaw, wanted a special way to thank the Churubusco Youth League girls softball team for delivering to them the 2008 Major League Girls softball championship title and trophy, and did so by graciously treating the team to an all expense paid weekend trip [...]

Busco girls dominate Whitko

Middle hitters Richelle Ranney and Jessica Arrowsmith combined for 12 kills to lead the Busco Eagles to a 25-17, 25-16 and 25-6 victory over the Wildcats Tuesday.
Setter Alexis Bankson again led with 15 assists, helped ably by Danielle Hartmann and Kayla Mathewson with a combined 9 aces. Hartmann also had 9 digs.

The superior Eagle team was Churubusco Friday night when they easily handled Fremont, 56-7.
If this was a prize fight, they would have stopped it in the first round.
Busco’s defense scored more than half of the touchdowns, including a beautiful 75-yard interception return by Shawn McCoy.

Turtle Days Festival group gives $2,000 to Churubusco park

Members of the Churubusco Turtle Days Festival committee did so well with this year’s festival that they were able to give $2,000 to the Churubusco Community Park.
The group made a check presentation at Saturday’s Chamber of Commerce Picnic in the Park and Merchants vs Firemen softball game.

Two residents voice concern over extra $1.50 trash fee

Two residents voiced concerns to Churubusco Town Council members about a proposed rate increase for trash pickup, with one stating that it would be nothing but a burden to local residents.
Roger Bayford and Charles Ransom, both residents of Churubusco, voiced their objections at a Town Council public hearing Wednesday, Aug. 20.
