Festival officials gear up for 60th Turtle Days

The Churubusco Turtle Days Association has started preparation for next year’s festival by recently electing its officers for 2009.

They are Kirk Gray - president, Robin Ramsey - vice president, Tracey Bultemeier -secretary, and Vince McEntee - treasurer.

The 2009 festival will be held Wednesday through Saturday, June 17–20, and the event will mark its’ 60th anniversary. Started in 1949, the festival is a community wide celebration named in recognition of the infamous turtle “Oscar-The Beast of ‘Busco” with proceeds going to enhance the Churubusco Community Park.

Join the officers and board members on Saturday, Aug. 23 when proceeds from this year’s festival will formally be presented to the Churubusco Park Board at the Churubusco Chamber of Commerce’s annual Picnic in the Park.
