Rehearsals begin soon for Whitley County’s 44th annual Junior Miss event

Rehearsals for the 44th annual Junior Miss program in Whitley County and Columbia City begin Monday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Newell Rice Auditorium of Columbia City High School.

The 44th Whitley County Junior Miss will be held October 11 at 7 p.m. in the Columbia City High School Newell Rice Auditorium.

An orientation will be conducted at this rehearsal for those contestants who have registered on the America’s Junior Miss (AJM) web site as well as those who have not registered at the AJM web site.

The orientation will be conducted by co-coordinators Anne Rentschler and Pamela Thompson of Whitley County Junior Miss (WCJM).

All high school senior girls who either attend high school or live in Whitley County are eligible to participate. Homeschooled high school senior girls also may participate. All contestants must register for the local program through the AJM web site.

In October of 2007, WCJM awarded $2,600 in scholarships to the Whitley County Junior Miss, first runner up, second runner-up and category winners in panel interview, scholastics, talent, self awareness, fitness and Spirit of Junior Miss.
