Dogs, cows and people in all the wrong places at all the wrong times

Monday, Sept. 1:

11:40 a.m. - Unit 3, Whitley County dispatch, check out Harvest Court, dog complaint; husband of complainant did not want us called. He went to the residence on Mill Stone Run and asked them to keep their dog at home. He asked me not to make contact unless the problem continues.

3 p.m. - Squad car, Unit 2, overheated. Will call in a.m. to have it looked at.

Tuesday, Sept. 2:

2:42 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, call from Blue Ridge Mobile Home Park on U.S. 33 - make contact with the father and have him contact the Garrett Police department in reference to his son.

2:47 a.m. - Message delivered.

3:02 a.m. - Unit 4; Whitley County dispatch, call from West Pleasant Street residence … her dogs are barking and she would like us to check around her residence.

3:03 a.m. - I walked around her house and did not find anything. I talked to her and she wasn’t sure why they kept barking.

9:35 a.m. - Unit 2, school check.

1:40 p.m. - Unit 1 and 2 took U2’s squad to shop in Columbia City.

2:30 p.m. - Unit 1, school check.

5:25 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 1 to Staunton Ave. for theft report.

5:30 p.m. - Talked with wife and husband and they advised a homemade speaker box and a Sony Explosion speaker and a Sony amp 4-channel missing.

6:45 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, report of physical fight burnt orange colored Ranger N/B from Mulberry to S.R. 205 - male grabbed female, punched her and put her back in the truck. Last seen turning on Liberty from Mulberry.

6:47 p.m. - Located truck on North Main Street, backed up to the north side of the residence. As I walked up to the house, I could hear male and female yelling.  A. Adams and D. Swihart advised everything was OK and nobody was hit. I advised Mr. Adams that he has a suspended driver’s license and he better not be driving. He also is serving weekends at WC Jail for driving while suspended and told him if we get called back, both will be arrested for disorderly conduct.

10:34 p.m. - Unit 4 out at Line Street in reference to a warrant. I advised him of the warrant and to get it taken care of tomorrow.

Wednesday, Sept. 3:

7:30 a.m. - School bus 18 reported that the stop arm was down and they were passed on C.R. 450E around 500N, blue Dodge.

7:50 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 2, check out dogs running loose again from Millstone Run. I put them away and closed the gate, but could not get anyone to come to the door.

10:10 a.m. - Out at school.

11:40 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch - need an assist in reference to a vehicle. Rep driver having trouble with homeowner. The vehicle was a Dodge, but was not in view, so I told the driver to leave his phone number, as there was a Jeep in the driveway with Michigan plates, so I think the owner will have to plate it with Indiana plates.

2:40 p.m. - School check.

Thursday, Sept. 4:

9:10 p.m. - Unit 1, Robert Taylor in for handgun permit.

9:50 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 1 to West Pleasant Street in reference to loose dog, brown colored boxer, Harley collar.

11:24 p.m. - Subject reported lost husky/pitbull mix dog on West Whitley Street. Owner N. Steiefel says it is friendly.

Friday, Sept. 5:

8:10 a.m. - Subject called and advised someone came into her residence and let her brown colored boxer out of her residence this morning.

8:15 a.m. - I talked with subject and advised that the dog has been loose since last night. She was unaware that the dog was gone. She went down the street to get the dog.

9:05 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 1 to North Timberlane in reference to a violation of protective order.

9:10 a.m. - J. Dentzer at the residence taking items from the garage. She has a court order to pick up her things from garage Saturday at noon, not today. She told the judge this morning that her stuff was outside in the rain.

10:40 a.m. - She go the items and was advised that the next time she violates the protective order, it’s off to jail she goes by authorization of the W.C. Prosecutor’s office.

10:45 a.m. - Report of loose cows on Line Street.

4 p.m. - Unit 3: The kids that painted OPFM on the Mountain Top coffeehouse and Mor For Less are juveniles - 17 and 15 - and admitted to doing it. And they came to me! So, tomorrow I plan to take them to both places, they are to admit what they did, apologize and set up a time to go and work it off, by painting the walls or whatever needs to be done. I spoke with ——- and she is very supportive (of this plan).

Saturday, Sept. 6:

5:20 a.m. - Suspicious vehicle in area of the Staunton cul-de-sac. Possibly an older Jag. Caller said the vehicle was at the neighbors’ across the street and drove clockwise around the turnaround a few times. Vehicle lights shining in her windows woke her up. I checked the area as well as surrounding area. I’ll check again when sun comes up.

6:10 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 3 check out pop machines around town. County said Columbia city and South Whitley got hit last night. Whoever did it pried the machine doors right off the hinges. Checked all I could think of in town. No damage.

8 a.m. - Unit 2 and 3 go to Mill Stone Run again and cite the owner for animals running at large. Citation to Michelle R. Thalman.

Sunday, Sept. 7:

3 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 11 to call Abe Fragodt.

3:05 p.m. - He had questions about his firearm application.

3:30 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, assist with a tow truck with traffic on S.R. 205 in Noble County. No Noble County officers are available.

5:10 p.m. - Verbal warning for speeding and following too closely to David K. West.

7 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, lock out reported at the storage facility on Keystone Drive.

7:15 p.m. - Unit 11 approached by a subject that —- is driving her car with a suspended license. I found her vehicle parked at the park and no one was around. Black Taurus 4-drive. She is reportedly Signal 60 (narcotics/drugs involved) again.

8 p.m. - Alert from Whitley County - Unauthorized control reported of maroon Taurus with damage to grill, bumper and side mirror.
