9:20 a.m. - Unit 3, Whitley County dispatch, Windsor Drive, checked residence no sign of anything abnormal. Stood by until coroner arrived. Turned custody of scene over to coroner.
2 p.m. - Shift change. Unit 2 out at school.
10 p.m. - Shift change. Unit 1, IGA security detail.
10:45 p.m. - Allen County dispatch, male subject threatening suicide on Greenwell Road. Subject text messaged his wife, advising he has gun in mouth and wanting to end it all.
10:50 p.m. - On Greenwell Road setting up perimeter and trying to make contact with male subject.
Tuesday, Oct. 7:
12:10 a.m. - No contact with male. Allen County emergency service team on scene to make contact with subject.
1 a.m. - The team is getting ready to make entry and there is more than enough help here.
6 a.m. - Shift change.
9:30 a.m. - Unit 3, made reservations for Reid School in Indy - Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 27, 28 at the Marten House.
10:30 a.m. - Unit 3, school patrol.
2 p.m. - Shift change. Unit 2 out at school.
3:03 p.m. - Out at school.
7:29 p.m. - Lock out at school.
8:30 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 2, Go to West Street and talk to —– about alleged harassment from —–.
10 p.m. - Shift change.
10:16 p.m. - Unit 4, verbal warning for broken tail light to B. Hales of Fort Wayne.
11:19 p.m. - Unit 4, verbal warning for speeding to A. Chevalier of LaOtto.
Wednesday, Oct. 8:
6 a.m. - Shift change.
7:02 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 2, possible drunk driver northbound on U.S. 33. He just pulled into McDonalds. Out art McDonalds with subject, J. Compbell. He is not drunk. Said he has some medical problem and was sick and thought he was going to throw up and that’s why he kept stopping on the highway. Told him to pull over next time.
7:45 a.m. - In front of school helping with traffic.
11:15 a.m. School check.
2 p.m. - Shift change.
2:05 p.m. - School check.
2:30 p.m. - Unit 1, out at South Washington Street. Told them the red car needs to be moved within 10 days. I put orange tag on the window and advised them that in 10 days we will tow the vehicle and their expense. Next on the list is the van at the mobile homes located behind Mor For Less.
10 p.m. - Shift change.
Thursday, Oct. 9:
12:30 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, report of a theft of a vehicle on South Main Street. Victim is D. Swihart of Fort Wayne … 2000 gray/silver Honda Accent, dent in driver’s door, unicorn hanging from rear view mirror, red basket with her clothes from work (Subway) … had a paper tag in license plate area. Keys were in it and it was unlocked.
3:30 a.m. - Unit 4, took report to county to get stolen vehicle entered into the system.
4:17 a.m. - Report of theft at the Ramble Inn.
4:40 a.m. - Door had been kicked open … safe was damaged, but no entry
(into safe) . Undisclosed amount of money is missing. Owners will call in the amount later.
6 a.m. - Shift change.
7 a.m. - Unit 2, fuel, 13.8 gallons.
8 a.m. - Whitley County dispatch, found the stolen vehicle Adam worked last night in a field just south of C.R. 800E off Anderson Road. It does have damage. Appears they were going southbound on 800E and forgot that Anderson Road was coming up.
9:45 a.m. - Out at school.
1:20 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, lock out at C & A Tool, South Mains Street.
10 p.m. - Shift change.
9:40 p.m. - School check.
Friday, Oct. 10:
10:30 a.m. - Unit 1, made delivery to county.
10:45 a.m. - Call subject in reference to a male subject who is staying with her.
10:50 a.m. - Talked with female. She advised she has been staying with —–. She came across some text messages to a female named —– that said, “How’s my school girl and what are you wearing?” Female thinks the girl is underage, but has no proof. Male left and I told her if she does not want him back to pack his stuff and when he returns, hand him his stuff and tell him he is no longer welcome at her residence. And, if he does not leave, to call 911. She said she will warn him of criminal trespass when he returns. I ran check on subject. He is not in file.
12:47 p.m. - Unit 1, Whitley County dispatch, entrance to park off Mulberry Street in reference to male wanting to commit suicide.
12:50 p.m. - Out with subject at park. He is distraught over earlier problem with girlfriend. Wants to light himself on fire.
1:25 p.m. - Unit is transporting subject to Bowen Center. He will self-commit. He was warned no to return to residence on —- avenue until he makes arrangements and an officer is present. I took a black buck knife that belongs to him and advised him when he gets help to come to the police station and he can have it back. Knife is in evidence locker.
2 p.m. and 10 p.m. - Shift change.
Saturday, Oct. 11:
6 a.m. and 2 p.m. - Shift change.
2:57 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch, Unit 3, property damage accident at South Main and Pleasant streets. Evert and Loy. No alcohol involved.
4 p.m. - Completed accident report.
6:40 p.m. - Unit 3, citation for expired plate to J. Tarr.
Sunday, Oct. 12:
6 a.m. and 2 p.m. - Shift change.
3 p.m. - Whitley County dispatch in reference to theft of Halloween items on West Whitley. Stole a skeleton and tombstones.
4:15 p.m. - All county alert, on C.R. East 300N. Found the house before all others. Back a long lane.
