Thomas William Garver

THOMAS WILLIAM GARVER, 66, of Churubusco, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Parkview Hospital. Born Nov. 18, 1942, in Alliance, Ohio, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

He retired from Lincoln Food Service after 22 years of service, in 2008. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 157, Churubusco; and was past master of Huntertown Lodge 689 F.& A.M.

Surviving are his wife, Marie A.; son, Michael T. Garver of Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Tracy (Kevin) Thomas of Churubusco; grandchildren, Kelly and Trent Thomas; and brother, Charles (Lynn) Garver of Kent, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Garver.

Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Larry L. Smith officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Masonic service at 7 p.m. Friday. Entombment in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Ft. Wayne Children’s Zoo or the church.
