Summer classes offered at Faith Christian Academy

fcafrench0609Faith Christian Academy of Whitley County’s summer enrichment program series began Tuesday with a French cooking class for children lead by Pastor Larry Schmoekel. Students began the popular, six-week cooking series making crepes and a few other dishes Tuesday morning. Above, Schmoekel helps the students crush semi-sweet chocolate cubes to make a mousse. Faith Christian Academy, 1550 E State Road 205, Columbia City began a series of summer classes Tuesday, June 16. The series of six week classes continues this week. The school is offering  the following summer classes for children:

Summer School – June 17, 18, 19 – June 23,24,25 – June 30, July 1,2 - July 7,8,9 – July 14,15,16

Classes 9:00 – 11:30 1:00 – 3:30 2 ½ hours each
$ 10 a session morning or afternoon
$ 17 a whole day morning & afternoon
$ 40 for 5 weeks or a complete session of 1 class
$ 80 for both morning & afternoon for 1 day
$ 25 a week for all three days – morning OR afternoon = $ 8 a day

  • Tabernacle & Festivals – Wood – $ 12 total of $ 20 for materials limit of 12 students – Joy Gilriane.
  • Rockets – 4 sessions 1 hour – stretch 1 ½ hours – Steve Beck.

Baking & kitchen skills – Mrs. Meredith

  • 1. strawberry jelly – pick, clean and make
  • 2. cookies, brownies
  • 3. tarts or pies
  • 4. fruit crisp
  • 5. smoothies
  • 6. cupcake/cake & decorate

Cooking & kitchen skills – walking taco pie

  • 1. Mac & Cheese – pasta
  • 2. waffles/pancakes
  • 3. muffins
  • 4. biscuits & gravy
  • 5. grilled cheese
  • 6. pizza – make crust and all

Reading, writing & Math – Donna Ott Tuesday or Wednesday mornings and afternoons.
