The Columbia City Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) #1906 recently celebrated their 100th anniversary on Friday, Oct. 9, with a celebration at the Columbia City Aerie, located at 306 W. Van Buren Street.

“Our aerie is excited to commemorate 100 years in the Columbia City community,” said Joe Geiger, Columbia City Past Worthy President and Committee Member for the 100th Anniversary.

Saturday, the Columbia City Eagles held a private ceremony and presented a donation to the Indiana State President Gary Harrison’s Charity, the Riley Hospital Neonatal Center. The Indiana State President, Officers and Auxiliary State Ritual Team were present at the service.

A fire destroyed the Columbia City Aerie in December 1976. The Columbia City Aerie was rebuilt and dedicated in April 1978 at the same location.

Columbia City F.O.E. #1906 was instituted into the local community in 1909 and has grown to more than 1,000 members of the local community.

The Columbia City Eagles follow the International F.O.E. motto of “People Helping People” by donating to local and international charities, including the Eagles’ Charities.
