GARRETT, Ind. (Oct. 16, 2009) – The Community Care Food Pantry in Garrett will host an open house for the public in its new and expanded location from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at 108 W. Houston St., Garrett, across from the Garrett Public Library and adjacent to the Garrett Eagles.
The Pantry has been housed for over a decade in a modest space in the basement of the Garrett United Methodist Church (GUMC). Over the last nine months, renovation and structural improvements were made to the church’s adjacent 93-year old parsonage for the food pantry to occupy. Guests will be invited to tour the renovated food pantry and refreshments will be provided.
