I received this from my daughter Krissy just now – and all of the memories of Mady’s illness rose to the surface again. We know what a great encouragement this can be, so please read it – and pass it on – and send that card.
Some of you are personal friends of mine. Some of you I know as business contacts. I received the below email this morning and wanted to share it with each of you. A lot of you know that my oldest daughter, Madyson, had neuroblastoma when she was a baby. She was 9 months old when she was diagnosed on Nov. 14, 2001. I remember that we received a lot of cards that Christmas from loved ones and people we didn’t even know.
What an encouragement that was! Please be that kind of encouragement to this family and help give this little guy a reason to really celebrate Christmas with his family next week. And don’t forget to pray for him. There was a time that our oncologist told us the “best we could do” was prolong Mady’s life by “maybe a couple of years.” But God had bigger plans!
Mady has been in remission since March 31, 2003 and no signs of disease. He is a God of miracles.
Noah Biorkman is a 5-year-old boy who is in his last stages of neuroblastoma cancer after a 2 1/2 year battle. His family is celebrating christmas next week and all he wants is Christmas cards. Lets try and see how many we can get to him from all over the world. His address is : 1141 Fountain View Circle, South Lyon, MI. 48178.
Please forward this to as many people as you think might respond.
Give yourself the gift of bringing love and hope to this family. Also, I looked this up on snopes and it is true.
Here is the link if you want to check it out yourself: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/medical/biorkman.asp.
I hope that I haven’t offended any of you by sending this. If I have, please accept my apologies.
Sincerely,
Krissy Powell and Krissy’s father, Larry Schmoekel
Pastor of Faith Christian Academy
