Tennis team recognized for outstanding season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Nov. 16, 2009) – The Churubusco boys tennis team held its end of the season party at Pro Bowl West in Fort Wayne Friday, Nov. 13. A night of bowling and celebration was the theme for the party.

The coaches honored the players with numerous awards.

Senior Alex McDowell received his fourth chevron along with an academic star, school record patch (#1 doubles), sectional and regional patches, certificates for All Area District 2 Team and All-State Honorable Mention Doubles Team, and a plaque for those honors as well.

Senior Ryan Mey received his fourth chevron in addition to an academic star, captain star, school record patches (#1 doubles, season record and career wins), sectional and regional patches, certificates for All-Area District 2 Team and All-State Honorable Mention Doubles Team, and a plaque for those honors, as well.

Both McDowell and Mey had previously received their NECC All-Conference patches.

Junior Jesse Lich received his third chevron and a plaque for “Mr. Hustle.”

The three freshmen, Brandon Wormcastle, Grant Stephan, and Andrew Biddle all received their varsity letters, first chevron and 2013 numbers. In addition, Stephan received a plaque for “Most Improved”, and Biddle for the “Eagle Spirit”.
