FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Nov. 12, 2009) – The Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home Board of Directors hasĀ appointed Phyllis Hermann as the agency’s new CEO, effective immediately.
Hermann, Vice President of Clinical Services and compliance officer since 2007, has also been serving as the agency’s interim CEO since June 2009. She began her career with Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in 1989 as a hospice nurse and has devoted most of her health care career to hospice and palliative care, working a total of eighteen years at VNHH. Hermann holds an Associate Degree in nursing from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University, is a graduate of Leadership Fort Wayne, and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality through the National Association of Healthcare Quality.
Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides hospice and palliative care to patients in their home, in area nursing facilities and in the agency’s 14-bed Hospice Home, the area’s only freestanding in-patient unit dedicated to the needs of the terminally-ill and their families.
Licensed by the Indiana State Department of Health, Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home has been accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) for nearly 20 years and is a United Way of Allen County partner agency.
