Saturday’s “Coats for Kids” giveaway on first come, first serve basis

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (Dec. 2, 2009) — The Salvation Army of Whitley County, in conjunction with DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, will be handing out Coats For Kids Saturday, Dec. 5, at Eagle Quest Church from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

According to Pat Mossburg of the Salvation Army, the coats will be given away to children in need on a first come, first served basis.

Parents or guardians are asked to bring a photo ID and be a resident of Whitley County.

Mossburg said that as of today, Demoney-Grimes has collected more then 200 coats. They are now drycleaning all of the coats and anticipate that more coats will be donated to the cause by Saturday.

Eagle Quest Church is located one half mile north of US 30 on SR 109, just north of Columbia City.
