Hamilton, Nicodemus, Siddons Advance to Coliseum; Hamilton Crowned 171 Champ

Posted on 09 February 2010

WrestlersSaturday was the Carroll regional.  Only a wrestling tournament at Carroll could combine Mossy Oak pajama bottoms with catered fettuccini from Casa’s

Busco sent 6 wrestlers to Carroll on Saturday.  Three of them will advance to the Semi-state round of the IHSAA tournament held at the Fort Wayne Coliseum.

At the 152lb division, senior Jordan Nicodemus placed 4th.  Braxton Siddons placed 3rd in the 189lb division.  And at 171, Jordan Hamilton defeated Whitko’s Austin Striggle 9-0 in the championship match.  Hamilton’s defeat of Striggle was the second consecutive time he had done so.  Hamilton beat Striggle last Saturday in the championship round of the sectional as well.

First round match-ups for FW Semi-State:

152LBS

Nick Duke, Marion—Senior (38-2)

Vs

Jordan Nicodemus, Busco—Senior (26-9)

171LBS

Jordan Hamilton, Busco—Senior (31-1)

Vs

Ben Pfister, Bluffton—Freshman (24-16)

189LBS

Braxton Siddons, Busco—Junior (29-7)

Vs

Grant Brown, Yorktown—Senior (34-9)

Round 1 begins at 9:00am

If you’ve never had the opportunity to witness the Fort Wayne semi-state, I encourage you to attend on Saturday.  It really is one of the greatest events in all of high school sports.
