CHURUBUSCO, Ind. (Oct. 10, 2009) – Everything from skateboard tricks to cornhole tossing to hayrides to bed racing to kickball, and more was offered to patrons of the annual Turtle Days Association fall fundraiser – OKturtlefest – held at the park Saturday.

The weather held out, although TDA members were sweating it out the day before, when it rained all day long.

A bed race provided some fun antics when the 7-member team from Brevin’s Restaurant took on the  Turtle Days Board member team.

Amidst the early morning fog and chill, skateboarders showed up to display their skills and compete for prizes at the skatepark.

It was chilly throughout the morning, but the sun did manage to peek through the clouds and provide some warmth mid-afternoon.

The hot dogs and chili -  cooked by Mark Bianski in a large kettle over an open fire – was a huge hit.

A mini-midway provided rides and concessions and a large crowd turned out for the cornhole tournament, which was won by Joe and Cary Blake in the championship round against the Sims family.

Greg Barkley (aka Harry Truman) of U.S. 93.3 FM Country radio emceed the event and led the karaoke contest.
