CHURUBUSCO - Parkview Whitley Hospital Foundation will hold its 20th annual golf outing at Eel River Golf Course, Churubusco, on Thursday, July 10. This year’s event is an 18-hole modified scramble.
Foursomes can register for $360, or individuals may register for $90. This includes green fees, cart rental, practice green, a light lunch, an awards dinner, player gifts, and door prizes. Participants can participate in a 50/50 raffle, skins contest, Get on the Green contest and buy mulligans if needed. There will be a silent auction which includes Vera Bradley luggage and an Oak Pointe clock signed by Senator Barack Obama.
This year’s event will benefit two Parkview Whitley Hospital departments: the Emergency Room and the Rehabilitation Department.
Parkview Whitley Hospital’s ER responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ER physicians and staff treated more than 11,000 patients in 2007. When a crisis takes place and every minute counts, patients can rely on Parkview Whitley Hospital to respond quickly and professionally. The community’s generosity will allow the ER to purchase an IV rapid infusion pump and a replacement cardiac monitor/defibrillator.
The Parkview Whitley Hospital’s Rehabilitation department gives patients the tools and strength they need to recover from life’s unexpected challenges. Proceeds from this outing will allow the RD to purchases additional elevating chairs for the waiting area. These chairs will help clients who have difficulty sitting or rising from low furniture for various reasons, including arthritis and hip or knee surgery.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with open practice green and a light lunch provided. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., and the day will close with awards and a delicious dinner catered by Stan and Doris Horne of Churubusco.
